Mr. Richard Hartwell Barden, 67, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta, Ga.
Mr. Barden was born July 10, 1943 to the late William Barden and Edith Whisenant Barden. Mr. Barden was a member of Believers Baptist Church. Mr. Barden was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army.
Mr. Barden is survived by his wife of 47 years, Emily Fain Barden; son, Shannon Barden and granddaughter, Rhiannon Barden; brother, Aubrey (Mary Coyle) Barden; and sister, Alvah (Donnie) Buck; and half brother William Patrick Barden.
A service to celebrate Mr. Barden's life will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Elmhurst Cemetery.
