Juan was born and raised in Uvalde and lived there all of his life, until he traveled to San Antonio and enlisted in the Marines, at the recruiting office.
When Juan arrive in Vietnam 7 May 1970, he was assigned to CAP 2-3-1,CACO 2-3 2nd CAG Combined Action, III MAF.
Juan drowned due to heavy flooding when his unit was ordered to withdraw to LZ Baldy, Dien Ban District.
He was single and served his country for at least 1 year and was KIA #53,219.
Juan had been in Vietnam for 5 months and 23 days.
He was 20 years, 4 months and 9 days.
Survived by his parents; Francisco and Cruz Librada Aranda, his brother; Javier and his sister; Deamantina all of Uvalde,TX.
