IN MEMORY
Of Edith Metcalf who passed
away September 11, 1935.
Just a year ago you left us,
You did not say "good-bye."
Merely took a leave of absence
To that homeland in the sky.
Oh, how we long to see you,
Hear your hearty laugh again,
Sweet to us is the memory
Of a life pure and clean.
We shall not wish you back,
Our lonely hearts to cheer,
For you're so happy yonder,
Your spirit seems so near.
But let us live for Jesus,
Him whom you loved so well;
And let us in our labors
His wondrous message tell.
Dear daughter, ere long we'll see you.
May we redeem God's time,
To fill our place and duty,
Will make meeting so sublime.
