The funeral of Samuel J. Wallick was held at the late residence on North Crafford street last Saturday afternoon Rev. Vandettum, of the Methodist Church in charge. His two daughters, Mrs Jas. Fennell, of Davenport,Iowa and Mrs Emma Jones, of Macomb, were both present, and a large number of friends attended. The death of this excellent citizen was very sudden, as stated in the Democrat last week, and the results of the investigation of the coroner's jury was that death was due to heart disease. Samuel J. Wallick, son of Mr and Mrs S. J. Wallick Sr. was born near Fairview, Fulton Co. IL on Aug 17, 1844 and departed this life at his home in Bushnell, on April 12, 1923 age 78 years 7 months and 25 days. He was united in marriage on March 28, 1867 to Miss Elizabeth Bivens, also of Fairview, IL. They commenced housekeeping in Lee Township, Fulton Co. Il. Later they lived near Prairie City for about two years, then back to the farm, until thirty years ago when he moved into the city of Bushnell. To this union two daughters were born. Mrs Emma Jones of Macomb,IL and Mrs Margaret (Maggie) Fennell of Davenport, Iowa. In politics he was a Democrat and a very active one, and a diligent worker in his party. A man of excellent health never sick. He was well known in Bushnell and this community and was held in high regards by his many friends and Samuel J Wallick and his jovial ways will be missed in the meeting place of his friends.
