Walthall, 76, who died Friday afternoon following a heart attack, will be held at 2 Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of the Ford Funeral Home with the Rev. W. L. McEver, First Christian pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Walthall was born December 18, 1877 at Ossawatomie, where he spent his youth. He married Miss Maude Inez Turner April 5, 1899 at Conway Missouri. They lived at Ossawatomie, where he was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad Co. They came to Coffeyville in 1913 and made their home at 1403 Willow for 27 years. He continued to work as a freight train conductor at the Missouri Pacific for a total of 16 years. Later he worked as a tool room foreman at the Sinclair Refining Company until his retirement in 1942. Following his retirement the couple lived at Cherryvale for seven years coming back to Coffeyville in 1949. Mr. Walthall was a member of the Christian Church at Cherryvale and for many years held membership in the Ancient Order of the United Workmen. He is survived by his wife of the home address, three sons, Alvin L. Walthall, 1518 Willow, Lothair Walthall, New York City, and Donald Walthall, Wichita; two sisters, Mrs. Grace McClay, Tacoma Washington, and Mrs. Gertrude McChesney, Seattle Washington, and 5 grandchildren. Three brothers, Karl, Raymond, and Frederick are deceased. (per Eugene R. Walthall (#48256152)
