"The death of Mary B. Spring, widow of Henry Spring, occurred last Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm Horn, in Indianapolis. She had been ill for several years and her death was caused by cancer. Mrs. Spring was 61 years old and her maiden name was Mary Braden, and she was a sister of A.B. Braden, the Main Street grocer. She was a noble, pure woman, beloved by all who knew her. Three children are left to mourn her loss, viz.; Mrs. Henry Anderson, of the Wea; Robert Spring, and Mrs. William Horn of Indianapolis. The remains were brought to this city last Thursday and were taken to the family home on south Eighth street."

Another news clipping reads: "Death Due to Cancer. Mrs. Mary B. Spring, a sister of Mrs. W.W. Garrott and Mrs. J.G. Clark, is dead at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Horn, in Indianapolis, her demise being due to cancer after an illness of many months. The deceased was sixty-one years of age. Mrs. H.G.P. Jennings, of Lafayette, is also a sister, and she is survived by three children. The body will be taken to Lafayette for interment."
