Catherine Margaret, daughter of the late John and Lisetta Schierholz was born on the family farm four miles north of Ogden, on May 8, 1887 and died at Bismark, North Dakota, Sunday, August 15, 1948 at the age of 61 yrs, 3 months and 7 days.
On March 1, 1911 she was married to Grant C. Brown, also of Ogden.
They resided in this vicinity until 1917 when the family moved to Dunn Center, North Dakota, which since has been their home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who passed away 11 yrs ago in August, 1937. Two children, Mable Katherine and Russell LaVern who both died in infancy.
Surviving are a son and four daughters;

Mrs. Brown had been a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and a loyal friend and had remained steadfast to her faith.
Both she had her late husband were held in high esteem in their community where both held offices in local and school governments.
Mr. Brown was a United Spanish War Veteran and Mrs. Brown was a member of the United Spanish War veterans auxiliary at Fort Dodge.
