U.S. Congressman. He attended Johnstown Academy, was supervisor for the City of Caroga, (1889-90) and postmaster for the City of Johnstown, (1898-1907). In 1907, he elected as a Republican to the Sixtieth and Sixty-first Congresses, serving until 1911. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was collector of internal revenue, fourteenth district of New York, serving (1911-14) and was a US collector of internal revenue, from 1921, until his death at age 68.
