Kittie Emma Young, daughter of Albert Crosby and Jennie Baker Merriam, was born Jan. 12, 1878 near Rariton, Ill., and passed away at the Blue Valley Home, Hebron, Neb., May 24, 1967.
She moved with her family when she was nine to Republic county, Kan., where she lived until her marriage to Charles B. Young, Feb 14, 1895 at which time she moved to the Hubbell vicinity where she spent the remainder of her life.
To this union were born 12 children. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Mrs. Victoria Rist, one son and one daughter who died in infancy.
Survivors include eight sons, Albert of Belleville, Lee Wallace of Van Nuys, Cal., Fred of Onalska, Wash., Floyd Ray of Security, Colo., Milton of the Blue Valley Home, Hebron, LeRoy, Jesse and Estel, Hubbell; one daughter, Mrs. Rosa Gausman, Chester; two sisters, Rose Hardin, Omaha, Neb., and Myrtle Allison, Sutherland, Neb.; 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held My 27 at the Methodist Church of Hubbell conducted by Rev. Marlon Loftis. Interment was in the Hubbell cemetery.
