Born in Emporia December 8, 1925, lived in Emporia all his life, and was graduated from Emporia High School in 1943. After graduation David served in the United States Navy for two years. In 1946, he enrolled as a freshman at K.S.T.C., Emporia. In college David was working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, and minoring in Social Sciences. His class, the class of 1950, is now preparing for graduation. On March 25, 1948, David was married to Miss Joyce Mardis of Anthony, Kansas. On August 11, 1949, shortly after his death, a son was born, David Clark Morris, II. David was fatally injured on July 12, 1949, when he was thrown from a horse which he was trying to break. On July 13, he died in Newman Memorial Hospital from the injuries he received. David is survived by his wife and son; a sister, Mrs. Newton F. Wilson; and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. P. Morris.
