Ballston Spa—Sept. 9 —Clara Virginia C. Beecher, died Saturday morning [8 Sept] at her home in High Street after a long illness. She was born in Ballston Spa, November 3, 1849, and was a daughter of the late James W. Horton, for many years county clerk.

She had lived in this village all her life and had a wide circle of friends. She is survived by two two daughters, Mrs. James M. Andrews, wife of Colonel of the 111th Regiment, and Miss Frances McLean Beecher, and one sister, Mrs. Annie Aldrich. The funeral will be Monday and will be private.
