Charles Henry Church, 94, of Pekin, passed away at 2:27 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at his home.

He was born December 30, 1916 in Hutchinson, Kansas to William and Anna Davis Church. He married Lenora Jones on October 13, 1943 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1983 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Jane (Mike) Stauffer of Pekin; one granddaughter, Theresa (Troy) Fardel of Pekin; one grandson, Richard Crowe Jr. of Pekin and five great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Islands during World War II in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
