Born Sept 1, 1857 in Gemliz, Germany. Married Mary Elizabeth Steffan on June 6, 1881, at St.John's Catholic Church, in Danzig,Germany. They had 11 living children; 4 boys and 7 girls. At age 81, John passed away at his home in Liverpool, New York. He was buried on Sept 10, 1938.

Per John's death certificate, his parents were John Selinsky and Dorothea Julnke, both from Germany.

OBITUARY:

John Selinsky, 81, a retired farmer. died Thursday at his home, 108 Cleveland Street, Liverpool, after an illness of two months. He was born in Germany and had lived in Liverpool 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Selinsky; three sons John A. of Syracuse and Frank M. and Fred C. Selinsky of Liverpool; six daughters, Mrs. Martin Abend of Phoenix and Mrs. Ira Graves, Mrs. Raymond Grieb, Miss Mercy Selinsky, Miss Dorothea Selinsky and Miss Amelia Selinsky of Liverpool; a sister, Mrs. Fred Smith of Syracuse; a brother, Franz Selinsky of Germany; nine grandchlldren and a great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at the home at 9 A. M. Saturday and at 9:30 o'clock in Saint Joseph's Church, Liverpool. Burial will be in Assumption cemetery.
