Woman, Early Pioneer, Dies
Mrs. Alice E. KINKAID Succumbs to Acute Indigestion
Acute indigestion caused the death Wednesday of Mrs. Alice E. KINKAID, 1503 Center Street, a resident of Sioux City for nearly a half century. She was 69 years old.
Coming west from Massachuetts in 1866. Mrs. KINKAID arrived here on the first railroad that ran into Sioux City. The family located in Dakota county where they lived until 1875, when they moved to Sioux City. Mrs. KINKAID had since continued to reside here.
Funeral services will be held at the home Friday at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Kinkaid was born in Northbridge, Mass., 31 May 1854.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. A.B. WHEELOCK, Elk Point, SD.; Mrs. Angie COLVIN & Mrs. Ray POSTON of Sioux City; & Mrs. Guy BLACKFORD, Stevens, SD.; 2 sons, Rodney E. & Orion B. KINKAID, both of Sioux City.
The body is being held at the Westcott undertaking parlor.

INDIGESTION CAUSES DEATH OF PIONEER
Mrs. Alice Kinkaide Dies at Her Home Wednesday -
Services Friday
Mrs. Alice Elisabeth Kinkaide, 69 years old, resident of Sioux City for 40 years, died at her home, 1503 Center Street, Wednesday morning from acute indigestion.
She was born 31 May 1854, at North Uxbridge, Mass. In 1866, she settled in Dakota county, Nebraska, with her parents.
18 years later she moved to Sioux City & was married to William Kinkaide. Her husband preceded her in death. He was drowned in McCook Lake in 1912.
Mrs. Kinkaide is survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. L. D. Wheelock of Elk Point, S.D., Mrs. J. L. Blackford of Stevens, S.D., Mrs. Angie Colvin & Mrs. Maggie Poston, both of Sioux City; & 2 sons, Orrin & Rodney Kinkaide, both of Sioux City.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Fri. afternoon at the residence. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery.
