Audrey Gilbertson, 84, Jamestown, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Audrey Delores Johnson was born Feb. 25, 1927, in Nome, N.D., the daughter of Olaf and Mabel (Hagen) Johnson. She graduated from Nome High School. She married Gordon Gilbertson on Jan. 4, 1948. They farmed for many years near Kathryn, N.D. She worked as manager at the General Store and postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service, Eastedge, N.D. They moved to Buchanan, N.D., where she was a homemaker. They moved to Jamestown where she worked as a medical records clerk at the North Dakota State Hospital for more than 24 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, cooking and making quilts.

She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Linda (Bob Hoffbeck) Misemer and Pam (Frank) Golde, both Jamestown, Sue (Bob Meyer) Gilbertson, Castle Rock, Colo., and Connie (Dan Thurlow) Gilbertson, Aurora, Colo.; three sons, Ken and Randy, both Jamestown, and Paul (Kirstie), Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; a sister, Miranda Elling, Olean, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and six sisters.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. Thursday, St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with the Rev. Suzanne Orlopp officiating.
