US Congressman. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he attended various colleges, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1872 and commenced to practice law at Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1879, he was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-sixth and Forty-seventh Congresses, serving until 1883. After his term, he served as an Indiana Supreme Court commissioner (1883-85) and engaged in the practice of law. He died at the age of 65 in Indiana.
