SADIE E. PERKINS

---Mrs. Sadie E. Perkins, daughter of William and Maggie Clemmons, was born December 8, 1881 at Memphis, Missouri and died at Grim-Smith Hospital January 6 at 11:10 p.m.

---She was married to Eli Moorehouse who preceded her in death in 1907. To this union were born four children, Albert Moorehouse and Mrs. Mae Chaplin of St. Louis, Mrs. Dena Montgomery of Piedmont, Missouri and Mrs. Lena Smore Kar of Rogers, Arkansas.

---In 1910 she was married to Abe Perkins and seven children were born, Stewart Perkins of LaCrosse, Harold of Elmer, Horace of Lewistown, Oat of Hunnewell, Corey of Fulton, Oklahoma, Mrs. Marie King of St. Louis and Ernest of the home. Also surviving are twenty-seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters preceded her in death.

---She was a member of the Christian Church.

---Mrs. Perkins lived in Elmer for several years before moving to a farm near Elmer.

---Funeral services were Monday at the Christian Church in Elmer, Rev. Carl Yount officiated and burial was in the Elmer Cemetery. McCollum Funeral Home was in charge.

Sadie married her first husband, Joseph Eli Moorhouse on Nov. 29, 1899 in Scotland County, MO. They had four children:

NOTE: Sadie's obituary gives her name as Sadie E. Clemmons Perkins. Her death certificate gives her name as Sadie Elizabeth Clements Perkins. Two completely different family genealogies, one for the Bragg family & one for the Shumaker family that give her name as Sadie E. Clemens Perkins.

NOTE: As far as I can determine Sadie is not related to Samuel Langhorne Clemens, also know as Mark Twain, (Nov. 30, 1835-April 21, 1910).
