James Willard "Bill" Bacon
Funeral services for Mr. James Willard "Bill" Bacon, 76, were conducted Tuesday, March 20 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Block officiating under the direction of Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home.
Bacon was born August 2, 1913 east of Addington near Mudd Creek and died early Saturday morning, March 17 in his home following a brief illness.
On July 27, 1938, he and Goldie Graham were united in marriage in Addington. Mr. Bacon was a retired pipefitter, a member of the First Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of this area.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Julie Bacon and Bobby and Kathy Bacon, all of Comanche, and Tommy and Wanda Bacon of Glen Rose, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Joe Wizansky of Seoul, South Korea and Billie and Bobby Dyer of Kemp, Texas; five sisters, Helen Parker, Tyler, Texas, Evie Harrison, Addington, Sally Parker, Waurika, Jean Neely, Pascagoula, Miss., and Patsy Gorman of Fort Cobb; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jana Jeanne in 1962.
Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leo Smith, Denton Ambrose, Jackie Morgan, Derald Ward, Earnest White and C.P. Waston. Honorary bearers were members of his Sunday School class of the First Baptist Church.
