Dr. Alan Dean Boyle, a servant of Christ and a devoted family man, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 in Beaumont, Texas. He was 35.

Alan was born in Council Grove, Kansas on September 11, 1971. After finishing high school in Hays, Kansas, Alan attended Oklahoma Baptist University, where he met the love of his life, Lori Coward Boyle. He and Lori were married in Beaumont, Texas, on June 17, 1995.

Upon graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Alan earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in May 1998. For the past few years, Dr. Boyle has partnered with Dr. Peter Cass in three optometry practices: Beaumont Family Eye Care and the Doctor Eye Clinic in Silsbee and Orange.

Alan was fervently devoted to following Christ and has a rich history of service throughout his life. Sharing his faith was an important part of who he was, whether during day to day activities or participating in overseas medical mission trips. He was an extremely gifted Sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church, where he also volunteered working with young children on Wednesday nights.

Alan's passion was always his family, especially his four boys. He loved spending time with them, planning frequent family outings, teaching them Kansas-style basketball and helping coach their soccer teams.

Alan is survived by his wife, Lori Boyle; his four sons, Brant, age 7, Brendan, age 5, Bryson, age 2, and Brock, 6 weeks old; his Mom and Dad, Donald and Janice Boyle; and his two sisters, Donise Underhill and Catherine Boyle.
