BATES, Daniel Newton - 49, Bible Hill passed away May 10, 2009. Born in Truro, he was a son of Helen (Reid) Bates, Truro and the late Charles "Junior" Bates. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Fox); daughters, Kaitlin and Lauren, both at home; brothers, Laurie, Larry (Cindy), both of Truro, Matthew, Hilden, Trent (Debbie), Salmon River; sisters, Tammy (Peter) Smith, Truro, Christa (Dwayne) Watson, Ontario; father-in-law, Harold Fox, Valley; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Charles and Frances Reid; paternal grandparents Charles and Ruth Bates; mother-in-law, Esther Fox. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 14th at 2:00 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. Visitation and reception to follow the service. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
