Alexander was a boxer in his youth, went by the name of Mike Murray.

ALEXANDER R. MURRAY
Coquille - Alexander R. Murray, 94, died at Coquille July 25. He was born Nov. 15, 1889, at Truro, Nova Scotia.

He and his wife, Lavona, were residents of St. Helens for more than 35 years.

He had retired as head sawyer at St. Helens Mill where he worked for many years, and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in St. Helens.

Mr. Murray had been a resident of Coos County for the past 5 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Levona, Aug. 10, 1975

Survivors include his daughter, Margaret Gould of Coquille, grand daughter Ann and grandsons, Kevin and Shawn, all of Corvallis, and several nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Murray's request, no services were held. Private interment was at the Pioneer Cemetery in Coquille.
