Mr. D. J. Akin, 82, highly respected citizen of the county and a resident of the Gum Springs community, died at his home Tuesday, January 14th from complications after a brief illness. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. Surviving are one son, Mr. J. H. Akin of Magnolia and one daughter Mrs. C. R. Hines of Indianapolis. He was laid to rest in the Holly Grove Cemetery Thursday January 16th with Rev. Noble Cottrell performing the last rites.
