He was a native of Madison County and had lived in Buncombe County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and was living in Brevard, NC at the time of his death.
He was survived by his daughters, Mary Jo Buckner, Mildred Buckner, and Willie Herron; three sons, Robert, Howard, and Jack Buckner; two sisters, Mae Capps and Carrie Grant Sisk; two brothers, Ben Buckner and Ross Buckner; nine grandchildren and three great-grand children.
Services were held Friday, February 3,
1978, in the chapel of West Funeral Home, Weaverville NC.
Burial: Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
