Robert Eugene "Bobby Gene" Garner, 86, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Mulberry Manor in Anna, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. P. K. Sunny officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the the Nu Way, Inc. in Anna, Illinois.
Robert was born on June 5, 1925, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Peter Cooper Garner and Leona (Clutts) Garner.
Bobby Gene is survived by one brother and sister in law Walter Glenn and Helen Garner of Murphysboro;
four nieces Jo Linda Johnson of Louisville, KY, Melissa Niedbayski of DuBois, IL, Mary Brenda Maxey of Kogoshima, Japan, Melissa Niedbayski of DuBois, IL, and Carol Jane Bagwell of Birmingham, AL
and two nephews Dennis Garner of Murphysboro and Dr. Cooper Garner of Waxhaw, NC.
He leaves several special friends at the NuWay at Anna.
He was preceded in death by one sister Mary Maxine Stanes, one brother Leon Garner, one brother in infancy, and his parents.
