Charles Frederick Dinger, born September 1, 1912 in MacDonaldton, Pennsylvania, to John and Gertrude Dinger, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at the age of 91. He attended Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma. He married Frances Marak in 1940 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Charlie spent his career in the oil field supply business working for Reed Tool Company and Baker Hughes. He was a 46-year member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John, DeDe, and Clyde, and a sister, Catherine McCollum. He is survived by Frances, his loving wife and soulmate of 63 years, and 5 children and their spouses, Diane and Bob Amend of Edmond, Mike and Pam Dinger, Mary Martha and Albert McCutcheon, Jim and Dee Dinger, all of Oklahoma City, and Melinda and Dan Losey of Lake Charles, LA, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends. For all of those who knew Charlie, they had the honor of knowing a gentle, honest man, a true gentleman, devoted to his family and church. The kindness and love with which he touched our hearts will be remembered forever. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to VistaCare Hospice and Bellevue Nursing Center for their care and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Charlie's name. An Evening Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 P.M., Friday, November 21, 2003, at the Smith and Kernke Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2003, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
