COOLVILLE – Ira D. Brawley, 74, of Coolville, died Sunday in Arcadia Nursing Home, Coolville.
He was born in Pennsylvania, a son of the late John Edward and Grace Irene Rue Brawley. He was a Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie A. Brawley; three sons, Walter Brawley of Xenia, Ohio, David Brawley and Daniel Brawley, both at home; six daughters, Irene Blake and Dianne Rockhold, both of Reedsville, Ohio, Donna Welch of Coolville, Patty Franklin of Delaware, Ohio, Kathy Bobo of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Terry Modesitt, of Belpre, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Bowman of Coolville, Iva Nestor of Columbus, Ohio, Margaret Westfall of Reedsville and Betty Cupp of Johnstown, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Fleming and Edith Brawley; one son Tommy Brawley, and one brother, Harold Brawley.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the White Funeral Home, Coolville, with the Rev. Roy Deeter officiating. Burial will be in Coolville Cemetery.
