WILLA S. FRIEND

Willa S. Friend, 87, of Hampton Court, died Monday at Gold Leaf Nursing Home. She was born in Ottawa, Canada on Jan. 13, 1896 and later came to the Ellensburg area with her parents, the late William and Sarah Burroughs.

On September 7, 1921, she and George E. Friend were married in Penticton, B. C. They made their home in the Denmark district where they farmed from 1932 until his death in 1965. She moved to Ellensburg in 1968.

Mrs. Friend was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gerry (Betty) Dodge, and Mrs. Glenn (Catherine) Gregory, both of Ellensburg, and Mrs. Henry (Willa) Lipscy of Seeley Lake, Montana; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandsons, Lewis, William and Patrick Lipscy.

Services were held for the family this morning at Evenson Chapel. The Rev. Bill Dietz officiated and burial followed at the IOOF Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to charity of donor's choice.

WILLA S. FRIEND

Willa S. Friend, 87, of Hampton Court, died Monday at Gold Leaf Nursing Home. She was born in Ottawa, Canada on Jan. 13, 1896 and later came to the Ellensburg area with her parents, the late William and Sarah Burroughs.
