United States Marine Corps
Son of Albert Dawson and Glenna Chatman Crocker
Marriage
To Madeline Adele
Robert Dawson (January 18, 1929 - June 30, 2010), a longtime resident of Torrance, passed away peacefully at home with his family, as he wished. He was survived by his wife of sixty years, Madeline Dawson; three children, Dana, Shelley and Diane; six grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Bob was raised in both Los Angeles, California and on his beloved Nantucket Island. His family and friends knew about his love for animals, sports and his isle of dreams, Nantucket. He was a man with a generous heart and a great sense of humor. He continued to spoil his family and he loved having family gatherings at his home whenever possible. Bob served in the Marine Corps and was a Korean War veteran. He always was a proud Marine. "Once a Marine, always a Marine". SEMPER FI. Services held at Green Hills Memorial Park on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. In memory of Bob, contributions in lieu of flowers can be made either to www.spcai.org/baghdad-pups.html or www.semperfifund.org/donate.html.
