Harriet K. Bennett, 84, of Rockford died at 8:16 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, in her home. Born Nov. 18, 1923, in Rockford, the daughter of Harry A. and Edith J. (Swenson) Kjerner. She graduated from Rockford East High School in 1941. Married Reno S. Bennett on April 6, 1947, in Rockford; he predeceased her Nov. 11, 2004. She worked for many years as payroll administrator at Dasco Tool Co. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild. She was an avid golfer and loyally followed the Cubs and the Illini. She enjoyed visiting her family under the Arizona sun and along the New Jersey shore and planting pansies each spring.

Survived by her daughter, Sari Bennett of Baltimore; son, Steven Bennett of Phoenix; and grandchildren, Braden, Aria and Linnea. A private family service will be held. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Family prefers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 First St., Rockford, IL 61104.
