MILLSAP — Services for Noma Christine Starnes, 84, of Millsap will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Soda Springs Baptist Church in Millsap.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis, N.M., under the direction of Moore & Sons Funeral Home of Arlington.

She died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002.

She was born Jan. 10, 1918, in Goree. She lived in the Lubbock area all her life before moving to the Millsap area. She graduated from Texas Tech in 1941. She married Hubert A. Starnes in June 1942.

She was an educator for 33 years in the Texas school system, including 23 years at Shallowater Elementary School. She was a member of TSTA and served as secretary for the Lubbock Chapter. She was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church in Lubbock and of the Lubbock Bridge Center.

Survivors include five daughters, Wanda Wilson of Commerce, Robbie Evans of Millsap, Betty Peterson of Argyle, Linda Barnes of Lubbock and Ruby Scott of
Bastrop; a sister, Norma Louise "Tennie" DeBusk of Idalou; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
