Born June 4, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Nobel M. and Velma Geary Rompel.
She was a member of the Racine United Methodist Church, and the Midwest Ceramics Association of Dayton. She was a dedicated volunteer and Director of the Southern Equal Opportunity Ministry (SEOM).
She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Edmund Ward, whom she married on February 23, 1971, in Fairborn, Ohio. Also, surviving are two children, a daughter, Amy E. (Ward) Clark, Racine, and a son. James Paul (Melissa) Ward, Huber Heights, Ohio; one grandson, William W. Clark, Racine, a brother: Paul E. Rompel, Orlando FL. and Nephews Joseph Rompel (Kelley) of Meriden CT, and Adam Rompel of Ronkonkoma, NY. and a Niece Julie (Rompel) Grills (Dave)of Hoboken, NJ, sister-in-law Marilyn (Cervelli) Rompel Port Jefferson, NY and other nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by the Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine. A memorial service was held on 28 June 2009 at the Racine United Methodist Church preceding Sunday services at 9 AM.
