Alfred Joseph Balasic was a performer and a Vaudeville star with the Balasic Family Acrobatic Act. In 1905 the act was formed by his parents, Victor Johann Balasic and Paula Enders Balasic in Hungary. The act performed throughout Europe until 1915 as The 5 Merkels and traveled to the USA for the 1911-12 season. From 1916 until 1923 they performed in Europe as The 5 Balasis when the family immigrated to the United States and performed on Vaudeville stages in the US as The 5 Balasis, The Balasi Trio, and Florence Micareme and Co. until 1929.
