Mrs. E. L. Osborn Dies At Newnan Hospital
Mrs. Rosa Estep Osborn, 52, died on Saturday, August 4th at the Newnan hospital, following a three weeks' illness.
Mrs. Osborn was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Ashley. She was born in Heard county June 10, 1882. She was twice married, first to Mr. Jep Estep in 1904. Two children came to bless this union.
Following the death of Mr. Estep in 1911 she and the two children came to Newnan to live. A devout Christian herself, she took an active interest in the affairs of the First Baptist church.
For several years she engaged in practical nursing and was loved by all with whom she came in contact.
On September 20, 1933 she was united in marriage to Mr. Edward Osborn, and had since resided at his country home at Happy Valley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Osborn were held Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Baker, on Greenville street, Rev. J. E. Hannah conducting the services in the absence of her pastor. Interment was at Oak Hill cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. T. W. Sewell, J. R. McCalla, W. L. Stallings, Ed Copeland, W. E. Keith and Cecil Hamilton.
Mrs. Osborn is survived by her husband, Mr. Edward Osborn; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Ashley; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Baker, and Miss Mary Estep, and two sisters, Mrs. Joe E. McWaters and Mrs. Walter L. Wright, all of Newnan.
