Isobel Lois Wilcox, 93, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay.
Isobel was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Columbia County, to the late Sidney and Lois Bush Wilcox. She graduated from Portage High School with the class of 1942, and recently attended her 75th class reunion. Isobel volunteered at the Manitowoc County Meals Program for the last 17 years, delivering meals, working in the office and kitchen. Isobel also worked at Wesley United Methodist Church as treasurer and the Manitowoc Company for 28 years. Isobel loved to travel, especially on scenic road trips. Isobel selflessly gave her time and energy in service of others throughout her life. Her generous spirit and loving companionship will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include Isobel’s three children, David McCollum (Julia), Virginia Beach, Virginia, Lois (Walter) Wilson, Glendale, and Daniel McCollum; precious granddaughter, Hilary Wilson; dear sisters, Ann Bleuer and Carole (Eugene) Busse; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Isobel was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Lois Wilcox; brother, Donald Wilcox; sister-in-law, Ardis Wilcox; daughter-in-law, Eileen McCollum; and former husband, William R. McCollum.
Memorial services are being planned for the summer of 2018 in Portage, and will be announced at a later date on the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home website. Cremation has taken place at Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel, with burial of Isobel’s cremated remains at North Marcellon Cemetery, Pardeeville, Columbia County.
