Inez Lorene(Shaffer) Baldwin, age 65 yrs.and 14 days died on Tuesday, February 17, 1976 at the Labette County Medical Center, Parsons, KS from pneumonia. She had a stroke on March 12, 1975 which she was in the hospital at Girard, Ks. for 2 weeks. After four months at home in McCune, KS. she entered the nursing home in Parsons on August 7, 1975 til her death. She was born on Friday, February 3, 1911 one of 8 children born to Robert Dale and Cora Adell(Huffman) Shaffer in Girard, KS. She was a member of the Baptist church. At age 18, Inez Lorene married on Tuesday, December 24, 1929 to Harvey Lavern Baldwin, age 24, son of Theodore Harvey and Anna Jane(Leach) Baldwin of Girard, KS. They made there home around the McCune area her entire life.

She had 17 children and 14 of them were raised to adulthood. Three sons preceded her in death. They were Herman Eugene, Richard Glenn and John Roger, parents, in-laws and a brother, Robert Lee Shaffer and a son in law, Ray Elmo Wise. Survivors are 14 children and spouses plus 30 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her children are Evelyn Irene(Rex Marvin)Heavin, Marvin Lynn(Alice Marie)Baldwin, Marjorie Helen Freeman(Loren Dee),Ralph Wendell(Mary Alice)Baldwin, Robert Harvey(Donna Jean)Baldwn, Allan Ray(Beverly Jolene)Baldwin,Jean Loree (Keith Leon) Hall, Leona Kay (Lavern Kent) Ashley, Lois Ann Oberle, Leon Charles(Ladonna Sue)Baldwin, Coralie June(William Ray)Bennett, Linda Cheryl(Allan Vincent) Bennett, Gary Dale(Cherie Kay)Baldwin and Randy Gail Baldwin and fiancee, Yvonne Michelle Bushnell); 4 sisters, Edna Belle Frakes, Viola Faye Palmer, Juanita Mae Puffinbarger and Cleo Nadine(John Andrew) Orszulak all of Girard, KS. 2 brothers, Charles Dana Shaffer, Pittsburg, KS and Hollis William(Rena Olive)Harlingen, Tx.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb 19, 1976 at Stewart Chapel, McCune, KS by Rev. Leonard Morrison. Pallbearers were Harold Wayne Gibson, Delbert Rentfro, Lloyd Tridle, Jerry Waun, Byron Diehl and Ralph Samp.

Burial was in Myers Cemetery southwest of Girard, KS.
