The Bogata News, Mrs Fannie Pirtle, 90, died in a Childress hospital February 16, following a long illness. Born May 30, 1862 in Alabama, she came to Texas in early life, and lived in Red River and Lamar Counties until three years ago. She made her home in Childress with a son, Lonnie Pirtle. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Charles Tope, Thursday, 10 a.m. at Bogata Baptist Church, with burial in Smith Cemetery, Bogata Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were, Ben Wright, Marvin Nobles, Raymond Nobles, Gus Nobles, Gadis Mauldin, and Malcolm Wright. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ludie Hoover of Kermit; three sons, Lonnie Pirtle of Childress, Otto Pirtle of San Angelo, Charlie Pirtle of Los Angeles, California; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Deceased husband, John Pirtle died in 1946.
