Bert Warren Kingsley, 52 of Taftville, died Saturday at the Backus Hospital. He was born in Preston Feb. 20,1923, son of the late Albert and Mary (McAllister) Kingsley. He was last employed at the Corning Road Landfill, retiring in 1970. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. Mr Kingsley was a member of the VFW Post 2212 of Taftville. On Jan. 24, 1975 he was married to Ida (Root) Messier, who survives him. He is also survived by one stepson, William Roth of Norwich; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Ethel Kelley of Jewett City, Mrs. Raymond (Patricia) Kobliski of Germany, Miss Barbara Messier and Miss Christine Messier both of Taftville; two brother, Edward Kingsley of Norwich and Frederick Kingsley of Lisbon; one sister, Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Taylor of Lisbon; several grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
