COLUMBUS JUNCTION .— Vernon Edward Gipple, 76, died Wednesday at 11:10 p.m. at the Morning Sun Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Gipple will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Stacy Lewis Funeral Home here. Rev. Fred Richardson, pastor of th e Spring Run Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.
The son of Edward and Salona Metzger Gipple, he was born March 19, 1895, in rural Columbus Junction. He married Ethel Huston Dec. 2, 1914, in Wyman. She preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1968.
Mr. Gipple was a retired farmer and business man.
Surviving are one son, Lyle Vernon; and one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Abbott, both of Columbus Junction: six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Friday.
