GARNET VIRGINIA HYSELL, 86, of Huntington, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born January 1, 1922, in Huntington, W.Va., the daughter of the late Frank and Leora Bailey Wellman. Her husband, Johnnie B. Hysell, also preceded her in death.
Those that survive her include her son and his wife, Philip and Diania Hysell of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Nancy Bittenbender and special friend Ralph Adkins of Huntington; and Peggy and husband Ron LaMascus of Chambersburg, Pa. Grandchildren are as follows, Angela Deardorff and fiance Aaron Kuzmeskus, Jason and Anna Jo Hysell, Mike Bittenbender and Jenny Hysell; in addition, a great-granddaughter, Danielle Bittenbender.
The family would like to acknowledge their mother's wonderful neighbor, Edith Legg; their appreciation to St. Mary's Medical Center, in particular Christian and Karen, as well as her caregivers, Andrea, Ruby, Ruth and her close companion Linda Maroney. At Heritage Center, the family extends their appreciation to Lucy Duba and to "Cindy" who visited her there. They also thank Rev. and Mrs. Howard Sparks and her church family at Good Shepherd, and her faithful friends Don and Grace.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2008, at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the Reger Funeral Home.
