Dennis Earl Smith, 66, passed away June 15, 2011 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be 4pm-8pm Friday at Stringer Family Funeral Services in Crystal Springs. Services will be 2pm Saturday at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Crystal Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a native of Crystal Springs. He graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1963. He attended U. S. M. and served in the Crystal Springs National Guard. He formerly worked in the pipeline business, owned and operated a service station in Crystal Springs and worked as a supervisor for Kuhlman Electric in Crystal Springs. Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church, Crystal Springs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Virginia Rushing Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Smith Griffin of Crystal Springs; brother, Vernon (V. R.) Davis Smith and wife Patricia of Mendenhall; sisters, June C. Richardson and husband Edward of Philadelphia and Theresa Harris and husband Johnny of Hazlehurst; brothers-in-law, Charles Rushing and wife Barbara, Donald Rushing and wife Patsy of Collins, and Joe Rushing and wife Margie of Memphis, TN; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
