LeNora Brown, 74, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at home. Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Worth. Interment: Bethlehem Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Old Church, Va. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Room In The Inn, or a charity of choice. LeNora was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Hanover County, Va., and received her early education at Washington Henry and Battlefield Park schools. She attended Davis and Elkins Presbyterian College and graduated from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education. She received her master's degree from Texas Christian University. LeNora served as director of Christian education at Hidenwood Presbyterian Church, Newport News, Va., and at Meadowview Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Ky. In 1960, she married Ray Brown, a ministerial student. Their son, Ray Brown Jr., was born in 1962, and their daughter, Betsy, in 1964. In 1971, the Browns opened The Little Delicatessen restaurant in Fort Worth, which they owned and operated for 13 years. After becoming certified as a Texas teacher, she was employed by the Fort Worth Independent School District, teaching fourth grade at Sam Rosen and Greenbriar Elementary schools. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and was an ordained elder and active in the ministry of Room In The Inn. Survivors: Her husband, Raymond C. Brown; son, Dr. Ray Brown and wife, Amy; granddaughters, Katherine and Rebecca Leigh Brown, all of Fort Worth; daughter, Elizabeth Brown of Houston; and sister, Brenda Bailey and husband, Jerry, of Old Church, Va.
