Adopted by my aunt Maud Compton as a baby. He lived almost his entire life at Bass Lake, CA. He was known as Bobby or Coonskin Cap Bob or The Mayor of Bass Lake by many. He lived around the Pines area most of the time and was a fixture at Bass Lake most of his adult life. He'd always hitchhike and often....he would smell really bad! At one point he somehow managed to get a license to ride a motorcycle and in the late 1960's early 1970's he ride his Honda Trail 90 all around Bass Lake and down into Oakhurst. A lot of people knew good old Bob from Bass Lake. I'd say by most accounts.....he had a long and pretty decent life.
