Obituary of Connie Evelyn Thomas Carr
Mrs. Connie Evelyn Thomas Carr, 91, of Gulfport died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Carr was born in Pine, LA and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1941, where she was a former longtime resident of Kendall Avenue. She was a member of Handsboro Baptist Church. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed sweet times with her family and friends. Gardening was her hobby.
Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Rosa Thomas; her husband, Ronald R. Carr; her son, Fredrick "Freddie" Carr; and one sister and four brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Carr Anderson (Frank L.) of Ocean Springs; two granddaughters, Karen Townsend (Otha) of Ocean Springs and Edie Buchanan (Tony) of Lavaca, AR; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen Young (Jeremiah), Alyssa Townsend, and Joshua Buchanan.
The funeral service will be Monday, June 20, 2011 at 10:00am at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel, 15th Street, Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before the service. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach.
