Stephen Harry was born Feb. 4, 1820 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Anna Hammond Harry. His family moved from Pennsylvania to Stark County, Ohio around 1830. Stephen met and married Margaret Moyer there on Sept. 23, 1847. The couple were soon blessed with a son, Theodore Finley Harry, but their joy did not last long because Margaret died a month later.
The young father found happiness again when he met Harriet Pool. They married on April 12, 1849. They added three more children to the family: James Pool, William Wesley and Barbara Nancy. They lived and farmed contentedly in Williams County, Ohio until Stephen died on November 14, 1864 at the age of forty-four years.
