Georgia Mae Hissom Wisyanski, 71, of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at her home, after almost a two-year battle with ovarian cancer, with her husband by her side. She was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Washington Township, a daughter of the late Elmer Hissom and the late Ruth Winters Hissom. She was a member of Community of Christ Church, Fayette City. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and going to the Longaberger Factory. She sewed for many people in the area. She is survived by her loving husband, Warner Wisyanski; daughter, Maureen Wisyanski Hughes and husband, Edgar, of Belle Vernon; two grandsons, whom she idolized, Paul Lauteri and Nathan Lauteri and wife, Crystal; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jurnee, Selina and Phillip; two sisters, Olive Vivio, of Flatwoods, and Claire Smith, of McClellandtown; eight brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and much extended family. She was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Hissom, in 2002. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the ELEY/McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, and until 10 a.m. Friday, the hour of services, with Elder William Mines officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
