Solomon Chandler married Lydia Rice in Greene County, Tennessee on November 4, 1891. They had another child not linked to them. He was Leonard Chandler, born about 1902 and died about 1925. No death certificate for Leonard has been found, and he may be buried in this same cemetery. Solomon and Lydia were living in Beaver, Pennsylvania when their son Fred was born. Solomon's death certificate states that he died of tuberculosis of the lungs. One of his grandsons recalls that shortly before Solomon's death, he had walked across a gap in the mountain near his home in a pouring rain without his coat, and the family always believed he may have had pneumonia also. The informant for the death certificate was a sister, Emeline Chandler Norton. Solomon's death certificate lists his birth date as April 1, 1869 and death date as April 3, 1914.
