Maryville, Tennessee – Loren Everett Joslin, 86, resident of Maryville passed away on June 11, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Loren was born in St. Joseph, Missouri July 7, 1924 to Loren Earl and Dena (Zwolle) Joslin.
After his mother and father divorced he, his brothers and sister lived with his mother and Stepfather Frank S. Hait in Missoula, MT.

Loren was raised and educated in Montana attending schools in Christina, Three Forks, and Missoula. During his teen years he worked for the CCCs (Civilian Conservation Corps) and also as a track laborer for the Milwaukee railroad.

In 1942 he joined the Marine Corps serving in the H&S Co. Sixth Amphibian Tractor Bn.He fought throughout the South Pacific. He said he joined to rescue his brother, Francis,who was a Japanese Prisoner of War. In 1945 he married Genevieve Luban in San Diego,
CA where they made their home. There they had daughter Audrey Lee and son Loren Eugene.

After his honorable discharge from the Marine, Corps he became a San Diego Police Officer raising to the rank of Captain. Upon his retirement from the police department he continued his law enforcement career as a U.S. Marshall.

In 1987 he married Audrey (Brown) Bowser. Audrey passed away in 2003.

In 2004 he moved to Tennessee to be close to his daughter Audrey.

He is preceded in death by wife Genevieve, father Loren, mother Dena, stepfather Frank S. Hait, brothers Francis
and Donald Joslin, granddaughter Gina Starr (Corley) Davis, and stepson Charles Bowser.

He is survived by his daughter Audrey Lee Cardin, Maryville, TN, son Loren Eugene Joslin, Julian, CA and sister's Emma (Heitman) Beeler, Missoula, MT and Linda Carole (Hait) McIntyre, Santa Cruz, CA.
Granddaughter Traci (Corley) Jorstad. Great grandchildren Justin Corley, Alysha Harger, Carrie Brown, Delanie and Abbie Jorstad, all of Maryville, TN. Stepchildren, Richard Bowser of Jacksonville, FL,
Elayne Wooley of Minden, NV, Diana Lytle and Lisa Brannne, both of San Diego, CA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
