Melvin "Woody" Pridemore, 65, of Marshall, and formerly of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord and his loving wife Sunday night, Aug. 9, 2009, at Union Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1944, in Stewartson, Ill., to Melvin Andrew and Rachel (Torant) Pridemore.
He love to fish and he lived his life devoted to taking care of his wife and his family.
Survivors include his children, Tina Toney and husband Richard, Melvin "Chip" Pridemore II, and Leeza Pridemore, all of Terre Haute, and Phillip Pridemore and wife Danielle of Elwood; grandchildren, Brandy Cooper, Santana Pridemore, Jeffrey Pridemore, Tia Pridemore, Lance Snavely, Lieghann Snavely, Candence Griffin, all of Terre Haute, Makayla Pridemore and Andrea Pridemore, both of Rosedale, and Phillip Pridemore of Elwood. Other survivors are great-grandchildren, Hope and Colleen Gibbons, Natasha Cooper, Natalie Lewis and Austin Pridemore. Woody was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Loyce Pridemore.
Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held at Highland Lawn on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Internment is in Highland Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
