A. Walter Meadows
Funeral services for A. Walter Meadows, 75, Princewick, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Williams Funeral Home at Sophia with the Rev. F. C. Calhoun and the Rev. Okey Cox in charge. Burial will be in the Odd Cemetery.
Meadows died en route to a local hospital at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after a long illness.
Born April 5, 1896 at Rhodell, he was a son of the late Albert and Victoria Meadows. A
retired miner, he was a member of UMWA Local No. 6109.
Surviving, are his wife, Mrs. Bessie Cole Meadows; five sons, Howard, Princewick, Walter Jr., Midway, Lawrence, McComas, Emmitt, Winding Gulf and Wesley of Michigan; six daughters, Mrs. Macie Lambert, Shady Spring, Mrs. Gerty Utt and Mrs. Mary Cree,
both of Princewick, Mrs. Cloie Harvey, Raleigh, Mrs. Mertha Mitchem, Crab Orchard and Mrs. Shirley Fuda, Beckley; 48 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Emmitt Meadows Jr., Albert, Jimmy, Danny, Wayne, Larry and Judie Meadows and Johnny Mitchem.
