He was a brakeman on the Black River Division of the New York Central Railroad starting on February 16, 1905. He became a conductor for the New York Central Railroad in 1907. He became a passenger conductor on the St Lawrence Division of the New York Central Railroad on Nov 18, 1923. He had a 50 year membership pin for the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, having joined on May 19, 1907. Addison retired on July 19, 1952. He was a member of Sanger Masonic Lodge #164 and Royal Arch Masons Warren Chapter 22, Waterville, NY.
